Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI)

This is similar to a common cold in humans and is uncommon in indoor cats.

The cat may exhibit symptoms such as difficulties in breathing, fever, swollen eyes, nosebleed, sneezing, a lack of appetite, and excessive salivation.

Upper respiratory tract infections are typically caused by viruses and do not require drugs to recover.

If the cat develops bacterial infections while suffering from upper respiratory difficulties, the vet may prescribe medications to break down the mucus.

This will make it easier for the cat to breathe.

Dehydration often necessitates the use of a fluid drip in cats.
