Hyperthyroidism

Increased appetite, weight loss, increased heart rate, irritability or hyperactivity, and sometimes increased vomiting are all symptoms of hyperthyroidism in cats.

Medication, surgery, and radioactive iodine therapy are the three basic treatments for hyperthyroidism.

The treatment chosen is determined by the individual's circumstances and co-existing illnesses.
